.vg

.vg is the country-code top-level domain for the British Virgin Islands. The official registry operates the namespace on behalf of the territory's Telecommunications Regulatory Commission and registrations are handled through accredited registrars.

The current published terms do not set a general local-residency requirement for ordinary .vg registrations. That allows international use as well as websites connected directly with the British Virgin Islands, although the geographic meaning remains the clearest interpretation for many visitors.

The registry does apply special rules to certain names. Registrations containing the name of a geographic region or an officially recognized body or authority can require written consent from the relevant authority.

A .vg domain therefore does not by itself prove local presence, government affiliation or authorization.

VYR classifies .vg as open because ordinary registration is not limited by a general residency test, while applicants remain subject to registry terms, legal requirements and third-party rights.
