.tw

.tw is the country-code top-level domain for Taiwan and is managed by the Taiwan Network Information Center, TWNIC. Direct names such as example.tw provide a concise geographic identity without requiring one of the older category labels such as .com.tw or .org.tw.

TWNIC distinguishes generic domain names from attribute-based third-level categories. Its current guidance says that ASCII.tw and the other generic forms have no applicant qualification restrictions. Applications are handled online and generally follow a first-come, first-served model, although reserved words, technical rules and post-registration compliance checks can still apply.

That differs from categories such as .com.tw, .net.tw and .org.tw, which have their own eligibility requirements. VYR treats the direct .tw namespace shown on this page separately from those category-based registrations.

For a Taiwan-focused company, service or publication, .tw gives a strong national signal. International registrants can also use it when an available name fits their project. VYR classifies direct .tw registration as open.
