.tm

.tm is the country-code top-level domain for Turkmenistan. It also has a familiar international branding association because “TM” is commonly used informally to suggest a trademark, although registering a .tm domain does not create trademark rights.

NIC.TM's published rules state that an applicant for a direct second-level .tm domain may reside in any legal jurisdiction. The required nameservers do not have to be physically located in Turkmenistan either. This makes direct .tm registration internationally accessible, while some third-level namespaces have different rules.

The extension can suit Turkmenistan-related projects, international brands using the “TM” wordplay, products and companies looking for a short two-letter ending. The country-code identity still applies technically even when the branding intention is different.

NIC.TM also applies its own acceptable-use, dispute and registration rules, so open geographic eligibility does not mean that every name or use is permitted.

VYR classifies direct .tm registration as open because the registry does not impose a registrant-location requirement.
