.tf

.tf is the country-code top-level domain assigned to the French Southern Lands, commonly associated with the French Southern and Antarctic Territories. It is a geographically unusual ccTLD, and most websites using it are not operating a conventional mass-market national domain.

Afnic manages .tf and applies the same holder-eligibility framework used for its other French country-code namespaces. Individuals must reside, and legal entities must have their registered office or main establishment, in an EU member state or in Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway or Switzerland.

Eligible registrants do not need to be physically located in the French Southern Lands, but applicants outside the permitted European area are not generally eligible. Afnic also applies naming and prior-review rules to protected terms.

The short “tf” string can be used creatively, yet the domain remains subject to the territorial ccTLD framework.

VYR classifies .tf as restricted because Afnic's geographic holder-eligibility rule applies.
