.republican

.republican is a generic top-level domain built around a political term. In general language it can describe support for a republican form of government, while in the United States it is strongly associated with the Republican Party.

The extension can suit political commentary, campaigns, advocacy, community organizing and personal political identities. The intended meaning depends heavily on the country and context.

Registering a .republican domain does not prove membership in, endorsement by or authorization from the U.S. Republican Party or any other political organization. Websites should avoid suggesting an official relationship that does not exist.

The current ICANN registry framework is non-sponsored rather than a party-membership eligibility system.

VYR therefore classifies .republican as open, subject to registry and ICANN policies, reserved names and third-party rights.
