.quebec

.quebec is a community geographic generic top-level domain for Québec. It is operated by PointQuébec and was created to provide a dedicated online identity for the Québec community.

Registration is not unrestricted. PointQuébec states that a registrant must be an individual or legal entity with a connection to the .QUEBEC community. The connection or reasonable interest can be linguistic, cultural, tourism-related, commercial or another positive connection to Québec, and it must exist at registration and continue during the life of the domain.

This makes .quebec a natural choice for Québec businesses, cultural organizations, tourism, media, communities and projects with a genuine relationship to the province or its people.

The domain does not imply government ownership or endorsement, and the community connection requirement is broader than simple residence in Québec.

VYR classifies .quebec as restricted because the registry has an explicit continuing community-nexus requirement for registration, renewal and transfer.
