.pw

.pw is the country-code top-level domain for Palau, but its registry has also marketed the letters globally as “Professional Web”. That gives the extension two identities: a national ccTLD and a broader branding option for professional websites.

The official .PW registry states that anyone in the world can register a standard .pw domain, with no country restriction or documentation requirement for ordinary registrations. This makes it much more internationally open than many country-code namespaces.

A .pw address can therefore work for consultants, portfolios, small businesses and professional services, as well as projects with a genuine connection to Palau. The “Professional Web” interpretation is registry branding; technically the extension remains Palau's ccTLD.

Individual labels can still be reserved or treated as premium, and the registry maintains anti-abuse and rights-protection policies.

VYR classifies .pw as open. Users choosing it primarily for the professional meaning should still consider whether their audience already recognizes that interpretation or may instead read it as a country-code domain.
