.pub

.pub is a generic top-level domain with several recognizable meanings. In everyday English it most commonly refers to a public house or bar, while “pub” can also be shorthand for publishing, publication or public-facing projects.

For hospitality, the extension can suit pubs, bars, breweries, event venues and local guides. In publishing or technology contexts, it may also form a compact address for publication-related projects, although that secondary meaning depends more heavily on the name around it.

The ambiguity can be useful for creative branding but should be deliberate. A visitor who sees .pub without context may assume the site concerns a bar or hospitality venue, so projects using another meaning need a clear second-level name.

A .pub domain does not indicate a liquor license, venue approval or publishing credential. Those matters are governed separately.

.pub is an open generic top-level domain. Available names can generally be registered through participating registrars, subject to registry and ICANN policies, reserved or premium names and existing rights.
