.lgbt

.lgbt is a generic top-level domain created around the LGBT acronym and the communities, organizations, businesses and resources associated with it.

The extension can suit community organizations, advocacy, media, events, support resources, businesses and personal projects that want an explicit LGBT-focused identity. Identity Digital currently operates the namespace under a standard non-sponsored ICANN Registry Agreement.

Registration is not limited by an identity-verification or membership requirement. A registrant does not have to prove personal LGBT status or affiliation with a particular organization simply to register an available standard name.

That openness also means the domain itself does not verify that a website is representative of, endorsed by or trusted by any LGBT community or organization. Visitors should evaluate the operator and purpose of the site independently.

VYR classifies .lgbt as open, subject to registry and ICANN policies, reserved names and third-party rights.
