.irish

.irish is a generic top-level domain built around Irish identity, culture and connections to Ireland. It is separate from Ireland's .ie country-code domain and follows a different registration model.

The extension can suit Irish cultural projects, tourism, food, music, communities, diaspora organizations, businesses and personal brands that want an explicit Irish association.

ICANN lists .irish under a Base / Non-Sponsored Registry Agreement operated by Binky Moon, part of Identity Digital. Unlike .ie, the .irish namespace is not governed by the .IE requirement to prove a real and substantive connection to the island of Ireland.

That makes .irish more broadly accessible, although the cultural signal remains strong. A site with no genuine Irish relevance should consider whether the domain could create misleading expectations.

VYR classifies .irish as open, subject to registry and ICANN policies, reserved names, premium classifications and third-party rights.
