.giving is a generic top-level domain built around donations, generosity and support for causes. Its wording can suit both nonprofit organizations and businesses or individuals that want to highlight a giving program.

Public Interest Registry operates .giving, but its current Registration Policy should not be confused with the stricter rules for .ngo and .ong. PIR's NGO-specific eligibility certification applies specifically to those two community TLDs, not to ordinary .giving registrations.

A .giving address can therefore suit charities, foundations, fundraising campaigns, corporate social responsibility programs, community projects and platforms that help people donate. The domain name itself, however, does not establish that the registrant is a registered charity, that a contribution is tax-deductible or that funds will be used in a particular way.

Donors should verify the organization and campaign before sending money or personal information. VYR classifies .giving as open, subject to PIR and ICANN policies, applicable law, reserved names and third-party rights.
