.forum

.forum is a generic top-level domain centered on discussion, community participation and the exchange of ideas. Unlike a niche product TLD, the word describes a format that can be used across almost any subject.

The extension can suit online communities, support boards, professional groups, hobby discussions, question-and-answer sites, member networks and brands that want a dedicated space for conversation. A topic before .forum can produce an address whose purpose is immediately understandable.

ICANN lists .forum under a Base / Non-Sponsored Registry Agreement rather than a membership-gated community specification. Standard registration is therefore open from an eligibility perspective.

A .forum domain does not indicate that discussions are independently moderated, authoritative or operated by the organization named in the address. Community rules, moderation quality and user verification depend on the site owner.

VYR classifies .forum as open, subject to registry and ICANN policies, reserved or premium names, acceptable-use requirements and third-party rights.
