About .dealer
.dealer is a generic top-level domain built around the role of a dealer: a business or person that sells or distributes products. It is often associated with automotive retail, but the word can also apply to electronics, equipment, jewelry, machinery and many other industries.
The current registry FAQ is unusually explicit about eligibility: .dealer domains can be registered by any individual or business, whether or not the registrant is an authorized dealer, and the name can be used for any lawful purpose. The namespace is therefore not a credentialed dealer-only zone.
That distinction matters for users. A .dealer domain does not prove that a seller is authorized by a manufacturer, licensed in a regulated trade or approved by a brand named on the site. Those relationships should be verified independently.
For businesses whose commercial identity genuinely revolves around dealership or distribution, the TLD can be highly descriptive.
VYR classifies .dealer as open, subject to registry and ICANN policies and third-party rights.
