About .bot
.bot is a generic top-level domain operated by Amazon Registry Services and built around bots, automated agents and software that performs tasks or conversations automatically.
The namespace was initially launched through limited registration periods that required particular bot-related eligibility and validation. Those historical restrictions are still described on older pages around the web, but Amazon's General Availability Registration Policy dated October 2023 replaced that model for ordinary registrations. The current policy contains no bot-ownership eligibility test and says eligible names under the policy are allocated first-come, first-served, subject to reserved, blocked and premium-name rules.
That makes .bot useful for AI agents, chatbots, automation tools, developer projects and brands using “bot” in their identity without requiring the old validation token process.
A .bot domain does not prove that software is autonomous, safe or operated by Amazon.
VYR classifies current General Availability registration as open.
