.boston is a geographic generic top-level domain for Boston, Massachusetts. It gives businesses, organizations, communities and local projects a direct city identity without using a country-code domain.

The launch included a Boston Community Priority Phase with special eligibility and naming rules for qualifying community organizations. Those launch restrictions should not be confused with the rules for ordinary registration today.

Under General Availability, remaining names are registered first-come, first-served unless they are reserved, blocked or premium. The registry's published FAQ states that applicants no longer need a corresponding trademark or nonprofit status at this stage.
