.boo

.boo is a generic top-level domain with a playful, informal identity. In everyday English it can suggest affection, a surprise or the familiar exclamation “boo”, making it more of a branding word than an industry label.

Google Registry promotes .boo for personal pages, light-hearted projects, relationships, businesses and memorable wordplay. A short name before .boo can create a domain that reads like a phrase or nickname rather than a conventional corporate address.

A significant technical characteristic is that .boo is included in the HSTS preload list. HTTPS is therefore required for web connections to .boo domains; a site needs a valid certificate and HTTPS configuration in order to load normally in modern browsers.

The extension does not convey professional credentials, official status or membership in any organization.

VYR classifies .boo as open. Standard registrations are available through Google Registry partners, subject to registry and ICANN policies, reserved names and third-party rights.
