.as is the country-code top-level domain for American Samoa. Its two-letter form is also useful in domain phrases because “as” is a common English word, so international branding can look quite different from the extension's geographic origin.

ASNIC's registration agreement does not state a general American Samoa residence requirement for ordinary applicants. It does, however, require a bona fide intention to use the domain actively on the Internet and includes conduct obligations beyond simple name availability.
